Free-range pork loin wrapped in pancetta
At Locanda Orvieto, every dish on the menu is born from a specific choice: working with local raw materials and respecting Umbrian farming traditions. Our fresh pasta — Umbrichelli and Tagliatelle — is handmade every day with selected flours. The meats come from the local supply chain: Chianina beef, lamb, wild boar piglet, and Piccione all'Orvietana. Vegetables come from our own garden and local producers.
The restaurant menu in Orvieto changes with the seasons and the availability of ingredients. You'll find the great classics of Orvieto cuisine — Porchetta Classica, Bruschette al Tartufo, Umbrichelli all'Amatriciana — alongside dishes that tell our family story since 2019. For daily specials off the menu, ask our staff or scan the QR Code on your table.

The menu is right above. Down here I answer the things people ask me every day before sitting down at the table.
01How much does dinner cost at Locanda Orvieto?
From €30 per person, depending on what you order. You can find individual dish prices on the menu above.
02Do you have gluten-free dishes for celiacs?
Yes, some dishes are naturally gluten-free — meat main courses and vegetable side dishes. We are not a specialised restaurant for celiacs: the kitchen is not separated. If you have diagnosed celiac disease, let us know when booking and we'll tell you honestly what we can guarantee.
03Do you have vegetarian or vegan dishes?
A few vegetarian options exist: pasta with tomato sauce, pasta with olive oil, vegetable side dishes, seasonal soup. We are not specialised in vegetarian or vegan cuisine. We are a traditional Umbrian restaurant, based on locally sourced meat.
04Does the menu change with the seasons?
Yes. The typical dishes of Orvieto — Piccione all'Orvietana, Baffo, Umbrichelli al Cinghiale, Agnello Scottadito — are available all year round. Side dishes, soups, starters and desserts change with the season. When an ingredient isn't in season, the dish isn't on the menu.
05What are the Locanda's signature dishes?
There are five typical dishes of Orvieto: Piccione all'Orvietana (slow-cooked pigeon 6-7 hours, pâté served on bruschetta, family recipe), Baffo all'Orvietana (pork cheek with sage and tomato), Umbrichelli al Cinghiale (handmade pasta with white wild boar ragù), Agnello Scottadito (grilled lamb, eaten with your hands), Tagliatelle al Tartufo (with Umbrian black truffle, when in season).
06How long does a typical dinner at the Locanda take?
It depends on how much you eat and your own pace. If you're in a hurry just tell the waiter and we'll adjust. Otherwise the rhythm is that of a relaxed dinner — without keeping you waiting longer than necessary.
07Is it a good place for a quick lunch off the A1 motorway?
We're 3 km from the Orvieto A1 exit (a 5-minute drive). We're not a motorway service stop: dishes are prepared at the moment. If you have limited time, tell us on arrival and we'll organise the service accordingly.
08Do you have a wine list?
Yes. 250 labels in our wine list, with focus on Umbrian wines (Orvieto Classico DOC, Sagrantino di Montefalco, Grechetto, Rosso di Orvieto) and a national selection. Wines by the glass available with periodic rotation. If you'd like recommendations, just ask.
09Can I bring my dog to the restaurant?
Yes — pets are welcome in the dining room, by reservation only. Please let us know when booking so we can seat you in a suitable spot. Pets are not allowed in the rooms of our agriturismo.
10Can I book for large groups or private events?
Yes. For groups over 10 people, call us at +39 0763 344054 to agree on menu, price and details. For private events (birthdays, anniversaries, business dinners, New Year's Eve dinner) we'll organise everything. The dining room can seat up to 50 guests.
